Here's the easy way to open RAR files on Mac OS X:

Step 1: Install iArchiver

Download iArchiver and then install it by dragging it into your Applications directory


Step 2: Place iArchiver in your dock


Drag the iArchiver icon onto your dock
Drag the iArchiver icon from your Applications directory onto your dock.



Step 3: Drag your RAR file onto the dock icon


Drag a RAR archive onto the dock
To open your RAR file, drag it onto the iArchiver dock icon. The RAR file will extract from it where was dragged.
