Here's the easy way to convert Rar files to Zip (or 7-zip,
DMG, Gzip or Bzip2) format on Mac OS X:
Step 1: Launch iArchiver
Download iArchiver if
you haven't already done so, launch it and put it in
convert mode by clicking on the
Convert tab
Step 2: Drag in file to convert
Drag the archive
you want to convert and drag it onto the drop zone.
Step 3: Pick a format to convert to
Pick the format
you want to convert your Rar file to from the drop-down
list in the right box. You can convert to Zip, 7-zip, DMG,
Tar, Bzip2 and Gzip. In our case, we'll pick
zip.
Step 4: Drag out new archive
Complete the
conversion by dragging out the icon from the
Convert to
... box to the desktop or another destination of your
choice.
